When Guiseley Library closed its doors for the last time in 2019, it was not the end of the story, rather the start of a new chapter in its new home at Aireborough Leisure Centre.
The team at Sancerre, led by Klaudia Forward, wanted to continue the building’s commitment to community service and so it transitioned into a hub for culinary experiences and social gatherings. Work began to develop the space into a welcoming social centre in the heart of the community. Additionally, a beautiful south-facing terrace, seating 28 guests, was created as a perfect location for al fresco dining.
The restaurant specialises in a wide range of seasonal dishes, made with British ingredients, skilfully created with European techniques, resulting in a superb offering to suit any palette. A vibrant space was created, welcoming visitors to enjoy a coffee, brunch, a lit bite, beautiful cocktail menu or a delicious supper.
Klaudia approached us before opening the restaurant for an EPoS system which would be up to the task of running a large menu, with seasonal set menus, as well as changing signature cocktails and drinks offerings within a busy, time sensitive setting.
Because of the layout of the restaurant we were able to provide 3-ply printing so that on any order, drinks are sent to the bar, and food items directed towards hot and cold areas of the kitchen accordingly.
It was also very important that the system could handle set menu variables (such as sauce flavourings for steaks). The POS system has this functionality built in, so it is easy to build orders with variables, and for the tills to manage set prices for 2, 3 or 4 course menus.
As with all hospitality venues, bill splitting is an important service to be able to offer. With the POS system, it is easy on any bill to pay for items individually, or to split the total evenly between members of the party.
Klaudia and her team have developed a vibrant, elegant and welcoming atmosphere to enjoy anything from a mellow Sunday lunch to a special occasion. If you’re ever passing through Guiseley, it’s well worth a visit. And as they say themselves; ‘The best stories start at Sancerre at The Old Library’
Klaudia told us; ‘POS provided us with a system that would do everything we asked of it, and could handle a busy atmosphere. Being able to easily manage changes to menus, sometimes at short notice, has been incredibly useful. We also wanted to work with a company who were relatively local, flexible, and staffed by humans! When you call, you get through to the team themselves and not a call centre or recorded message, which we all appreciate.’
